Resurrection - Wikipedia

The typical assumption that most Bible-believing people make about the afterlife is that there are only two possible options: that one goes immediately to either heaven or hell upon death. In fact, the Bible nowhere teaches that heaven is the reward of the saved or that an ever-burning hell is the destiny of the condemned. The truth is that God has not finished working with most people who have lived and died.

God does not condemn anyone without first teaching that person how he or she is expected to live, without giving that person the spiritual ability to understand, as well as the capacity to live up to His expectations. Even after converting someone, God continues to work with him or her, virtually coaching and encouraging anyone who has made mistakes and everyone does to turn from them and back to the right pathway.

God’s plan to end your suffering

When I ask them what question students ask most about suicide, they all say the same thing: "Do you go to hell if you commit suicide? Please hear me when I say I don't believe the best option for your uncle was suicide. And it's not the best option for the 7, teenagers who commit suicide each year, or the 2 million who attempt suicide every year.

There are much better ways to deal with life's problems. I hope and pray that people who consider suicide as an option would continue to look at other, more positive options. So what does happen to people who commit suicide? As I said, I don't find an answer in the Bible. But there are several scripture passages that can help us understand the eternal nature of our relationship with God:.

What Does the Bible Say About the End of Life?

It was sudden, tragic, and devastating to all of us—but especially to his family. In such moments of weakness, suicide is more than possible. Is there any hope for the family or friends of a believer who has committed suicide?

Does the Bible teach that suicide is the unforgivable sin? Although it is true that a person who has committed suicide cannot repent of the sin unless they repented ahead of time for what they were about to do , it is not true that the Bible teaches suicide is an unforgivable sin.

The Bible never teaches this. The specific unforgivable sin Jesus has in mind is not suicide, but rather associating the Holy Spirit with the work of Satan. Suicide is mentioned only six times in the whole Bible, but when it is mentioned there is no moral evaluation given as to whether it is right or wrong: 1. Abimelech Judg. Samson Judg.
