We get a glimpse of these demons in this first book in Hell Night Series — but I was honestly intrigued, and my interest was piqued as I went along this convoluted yet somehow reasonable journey. Remi is another survivor. She is also heavily pregnant and making her way across the country I think? I am not a native American, so not sure! Even with all the demons, their dysfunction it is easy to fall for these troubled brothers — and I am definitely looking forward to the next book in Hell Night. Oct 18, Jasmina Ceha Bookmarks by Jasmina blog rated it it was amazing. This is brilliant written story, but be careful if you're sensitive person.
There are lots of fragile scene. Alex Grayson book made huge impression on me, to the point that I could not collect my thoughts quick enough after reading it. Although I wasn't familiar with this author before, she already bought me, even with mysterious synopsis. The plot of "Trouble in Hell" in many ways is staggering and heartbreaking. This is original story and although unlike, many has a grain of truth in it, becaus This is brilliant written story, but be careful if you're sensitive person.
This is original story and although unlike, many has a grain of truth in it, because the author touches on the social problem. Whole book holds deep dark secrets that make my skin crawl. It drew me instantly from the first pages and created million questions in my head. I love books full of fast paced action, where the cards fall down spontaneously, mind runs with the flesh of light to unravel all the mysteries.
Each chapter resume something new to the story, creating an amazing reading experience. From the beginning everything is full of mystery, secrets and unspoken sentences. We don't know much about boys, who went through hell.
I liked to discover, step by step, the mistery about their past. It's really thrilling, breathtaking and horrible at the same time. Four men bonded by horrific past. Trouble and his brothers although not blood related, escape from "Hell" they live through. They return as adults looking for a revenge. Trouble, Judge, JW and Emo only use their nicknames in their life because they hate real names given by the parents. They live in a small town called Malus. They own it, rule it and protect it. They are fighting their own demons everyday.
Town has a really small community and any stranger is not welcome there. One day Remi, pregnant girl, appears in Malus and could change everything. She won't understand what's going on there and why, but Trouble don't know Remi story as well and what she went through. Although there were four brothers, it is really based on the story of the two of the main characters, Remi and Trouble. Trouble was confident and very mysterious man. He was torn between helping people and revenge. Remi awaken something unfamiliar in his heart. The relation between them was passionate.
They were like pure light against the darkness. He found her very intrigued and incredibly appealing. They were attracted by the magnetic power, which they tried to resist because their worlds excluded and left no hope for common future. That story guarantees us a lot of emotions.
I really love that story and all that pace, mystery and suspense. Everything was so good written. There is no way to get bored with this book and the action keeps you in suspense until the very end. I can't wait to read about other brothers story as well, in Hell Night series. An ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review. A gritty and very testing story Whilst this covers some very dark themes, the worst of which are touched on in flash backs, I would put it more as a mid-grey read.
A Walk In Heaven
All the bad stuff has happened in the past, experienced in brief flash backs or conversation. Whilst this doesn't make it any easier to read or stomach, the relationship between Trouble and Remi was separate to the 'darkness'. Do, however, be warned that this isn't an easy read though and does contain several possible triggers. Not on A gritty and very testing story Whilst this covers some very dark themes, the worst of which are touched on in flash backs, I would put it more as a mid-grey read. Not only is it hard hitting, it is also a very well written story. It was thought provoking, sometimes difficult, inspirational and engaging.
Whist I enjoyed the book, I didn't find myself absorbed by it - this was definitely a 'me' thing. Both the plot and writing were of a high standard, with some shocking reveals and a few excellent twists and turns. Remi and Trouble were both situation aside believable and likeable characters. You couldn't help but empathise with them, and even though Trouble does some shocking things, you will understand why. Not only that but you won't even judge him for it.
He did feel a little emotionally stunted at times, though his interactions with children showed a very wonderful side to him. There was enough chemistry between this pair to steam up my kindle. Though personally I just didn't quite get a sense of them 'getting to know one another'. This was one of the 'me' things. I need to see more scenes of them connecting on an intimate, though not necessarily sexual, level. Remi and Trouble platonically shared a house for a couple of weeks, so I could infer them growing closer but I like to 'see' rather than be 'told'.
The world building was really very good and, along with Trouble's 3 'brothers', there are quite a few side characters I am hoping to find out more about. Oct 12, Cassie May rated it really liked it. Reviewed on behalf of 3 Degrees of Fiction Blog This book left me with conflicted feelings.
I knew it would be hard reading it and I do not recommend this book for weak hearted people who cannot cope with abuse. Normally I thoroughly enjoy the books and stories of this author, but this one was … kind of hard for me to read. I am not American and have never been a supporter of the death sentence, since the whole judicial system BEFORE the sentencing is full of mistakes and prejudices. Reading this Reviewed on behalf of 3 Degrees of Fiction Blog This book left me with conflicted feelings. I do not want to explain this in a deeper way, since it would spoiler a lot, so I just leave it here.
Maybe, because Trouble was the least broken of the four brothers and the others were a bit more intriguing. Remi was an okay and rather normal character for me, in comparison to the other characters in Malus and while I was sad for what happened to her in the past, I did not really connect with her on a deeper level, like I did with some of the female side characters and the four brothers. The plot unraveled itself in a quick and easy way without being boring or telling too much.
I enjoyed discovering more and more secrets and questions which were not fully solved. Oct 18, Demetra rated it it was amazing Shelves: arcs , e-books , favorites I don't know where to start. This book made me feel so many things that I find it difficult to express how much I loved it! Let me tell you first that this book is not for the faint of heart.
There are some messed up things going on that will make you both furious and sad. I experienced so many feelings while reading the book; I was sad for what the characters went through, I was furious with those that hurt them, I felt the love between our leads and felt the need to see them happy and fulfille I don't know where to start. I experienced so many feelings while reading the book; I was sad for what the characters went through, I was furious with those that hurt them, I felt the love between our leads and felt the need to see them happy and fulfilled.
This is Trouble's book but we get to find out their joined past. Everyone of them is affected from what happened 23 years ago and the way their life is now is because of that past. I don't want to spoil what actually happened but I need to say that I really can't fathom how someone can hurt a child like that; it's brutal and cruel.
Trouble is a physician in the small town of Malus. His seemingly planned out life, changes when a very pregnant woman comes into town. The people in Malus are not fan of outsiders and Remi is an outsider. However, with her being 8 months pregnant they can't actually kick her out. It was interesting to see Trouble's inner struggle to keep away from Remi despite his undeniable attraction.
Remi didn't have the best year. Being alone in a new town with a baby on the way becomes even worse because of the people's rejection. She had her fair share of dark and difficult the last year and she's trying hard to recover and stay strong for her unborn child. I seriously respect her; you have to be really strong to make the decision she did! I was disturbed with everything that used to happen in the town. Some people can be so sick it's just hard to swallow it. They cope with everything in their own way, an unconventional one but they cope!
I hurt for these men and I can't wait to read everyone's story. After that ending I'm looking forward to JW's book coming soon hopefully!!!!! Oct 11, Brittany Alexander rated it it was amazing. This book was a very difficult read due to the subject matter. There are graphic scenes depicting child rape and child sexual abuse. Even though this book was hard to read due to the subject matter, I had to give this book five stars because it was a really good book. Even though I so badly wanted to put the book aside so I wo This book was a very difficult read due to the subject matter.
And these sick mother fuckers got what they fucking deserved. But for real, can we get these guys in real life? So bad. This is a happy ending, but there is more justice to be served for victims that have experienced any sort of sexual assault. These four men have taken it upon themselves to make it so that anybody that decides to harm a woman or child never gets that opportunity again.
Oct 13, Diane plourde rated it it was amazing. This is a 10 star story that had me hooked from the very first page to the last one. I will keep this review spoiler free because the readers need to experience first hand what I just did. This is a dark romance. They went through the unimaginable but they care a lot for the innocents.
This story had me reading it in 2 sittings. I started right before going to bed and all of a sud WOW!!!!!! The connection between Remi and Trouble is amazing. He takes care and protects her with a passion. I was swooning a time or two. I went through a wide range of emotions. I think the author went above and beyond with this story. This is the third book I read from Alex, and she manages to surprise me every time. I could go on and on for hours about how brilliant this story was.
Bottomline is this is a MUST read. Standalone for now. I strongly recommend this amazing story. Oct 18, Morgen rated it it was amazing.
The characters are written with such depth. I slowly fell in love with all the supporting characters. I really enjoyed it being told with both main characters POV so their back slowly unravels for us reeling us in to a story of deep emotions and darkness. Living in hell Trouble and his three brothers survived the only way they knew how by harnessing their pain into rage and seek justice on those that would abuse rather than offer a kind word or warm embrace. They keep the emotional side of thems The characters are written with such depth. They keep the emotional side of themselves buried deep down and unleash their physical urges without a second thought.
She finds herself stranded in Malus. From the moment Trouble and Remi meet there is an undeniable attraction that both tries their best to ignore. Will it tear them apart or bring them together? Remi is sweet, gentle, and caring. Trouble is protective, confident, and all alpha. Together they try to overcome their pasts. Their passion heats up the pages. Fast paced and gripping. A story full of twists and turns.
An adventure I never wanted to stop. With a story so full of darkness the characters still find a way to hope. Oct 15, Kerry Melton rated it really liked it. I had a hard time with Trouble in Hell because I was really taken aback by the content in the story. You can be the judge for yourself. The plot of the story was good, and I enjoyed the main and secondary characters.
Trouble, JW, Judge and Emo are brothers by heart, not by blood. Judge has a bit of a twisted sister-wife thing going on. Emo was just terrifying. Trouble and JW seemed like the levelheaded ones of the group. Remi comes across a small town in Texas. She thought she would pass by, but she finds herself in a difficult situation. I read this in one day. The writing was definitely not the issue. I needed to know the secrets, the lies, and the betrayal. As painful as all these elements were, revenge seemed to be the best way in this story. Tread with caution with this one. If you like dark, this may be too dark.
If you have no hard limits, this might be perfect for you. But Alex Grayson definitely succeeded in getting me out of my comfort zone. Oh Alex Grayson, you can write the hell out of some stories! Trouble in Hell was seriously brutal. It was a bit dark and a ton bloody and I seriously loved the hell out of it! I love how they are so close that they refer to each other as brothers. He was… um… interesting in this book.
